Tugtupite is a rare stone and due to the remote locations and difficulties of mining in Greenland, supplies of all the Greenlandic stones are erratic and will be finite. No new location for Tugtupite is known presently and all supplies presently available have been collected at mined out sites in previous years. The name Tugtupite is derived from the Inuit word for reindeer and means ‘reindeer blood’ possibly because of in it’s red form it would look very like drops of blood on snow. It is a tenebrescent mineral, it’s colour being enhanced by being placed under ultraviolet light. This Tugtupite is from the llimaussaq complex in the south west of Greenland. The stone you see in the photographs is the stone you will receive.
Tumblestones are an ideal size to hold during meditation or to be used as pocket stones. Carry them in your bag or pocket or place them under your pillow.

Tugtupite in Crystal Healing.
Tugtupite is a stone that connects the compassionate heart with the illuminated mind. It teaches unconditional love and especially the power of self love with out which it is not possible to value yourself or another, to give or receive love or to know intimacy. One of the best stones to open the heart, it deepens and expands love allowing it to be expressed in every act and thought. It is a strongly protective and peaceful stone that promotes forgiveness and compassion and abundance on all levels.
